Bonnie Anderson, Piano
Bonnie Anderson is a chamber pianist, orchestral pianist, and soloist. She made her debut with Boston Symphony Youth Concerts as flute soloist, and the following year as piano soloist. Bonnie collaborates with musicians from Boston Symphony, New York Philharmonic, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and Los Angeles Philharmonic. Highlights include Hindemith’s Trio for Saxophone, Viola and Piano with Branford Marsalis and Christof Huebner on the Nantucket Musical Arts Society Series and a recital with Joseph Foley on River Oaks Chamber Unleashed Series in Houston. This season includes collaborations with Lisa van der Ploeg (mezzo-soprano) and Michael Bellofatto (horn); Petrushka with Lexington Symphony; recording music by lesser known and living composers (Freya Project) at Shalin Liu Performance Center. Bonnie is principal pianist of the Vista Philharmonic Orchestra and recently performed Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 and Copland’s Appalachian Spring at Groton Hill Music Center. Recordings include solo piano and Nightsongs with trumpeter Joseph Foley. Bonnie attended Juilliard, Michigan State, French Piano Institute in Paris, and received her Doctor of Musical Arts from Boston University. She is Adjunct Instructor at Phillips Academy and Music Director/Pianist at UU Church of Reading.
