Kirstin Greenlaw, Violin
Kirstin Greenlaw has maintained an active performing career for over four decades. A resident of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kirstin comes from a family of vocal musicians and began touring the world at a young age, singing in a renowned children’s chorus. A member of the Dayton Philharmonic since 1998, she has served both as acting concertmaster and currently as principal second violin. She performs with the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra in Columbus, Ohio, and serves as principal second violin of the Peninsula Music Festival in Door County, Wisconsin. As a chamber musician, Ms. Greenlaw was grand prize winner of the prestigious Carmel Chamber Music competition. As a teacher, she has served on the faculty of University of North Carolina at Greensboro, taught at Oberlin Conservatory of Music as a guest of Marilyn McDonald, and was on the faculty of Opera Theater and Music Festival of Lucca, Italy. Ms. Greenlaw is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, studied at Vienna’s Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst, and has degrees in violin performance from DePauw University and Florida State University. When not playing her violin, Kirstin is a freelance travel writer and restaurant reviewer, as well as a passionate cook and baker.
